Most wallpaper complaints could be avoided if the rolls were checked before the first cut. Once on the wall, a visible fault can hardly be corrected – and many manufacturers explicitly exclude complaints about strips already hung with recognisable defects on the label. This checklist takes ten minutes and, if the worst comes to the worst, saves a whole room.

1. Are all rolls correct?

  • Article number: does the number on every label match your order (with Zambaiti Parati e.g. "Z81013")?
  • Quantity: have all ordered rolls arrived?
  • Packaging: are rolls or edges damaged? Please document transport damage immediately (photo) and report it to us.

2. Do all rolls have the same batch?

Every label carries a batch or production number. Rolls from different production runs can differ slightly in shade – side by side on the wall this is noticeable immediately. Lay the labels next to each other and compare the numbers. If they differ, only use rolls from the same batch for one continuous wall and contact us before you start hanging.

3. Check colour and print in daylight

Unroll about one metre from each roll and lay the pieces side by side – ideally in daylight, not under artificial light. Look for:

  • the same shade between the rolls
  • clean, continuous print lines without streaks or stains
  • even embossing or texture
  • straight edges

4. The first strip as a test

First hang only one or two strips and look at the result from a little distance once the paste has set. If pattern match, colour and seams are right, carry on. If you notice anything, stop and contact us – that way at most one strip is affected, not the whole room.

5. Keep the labels

Keep at least one label per batch. It contains the article number, batch number and the application instructions. If you need a replacement for a damaged strip later, the batch number is the most important information. What the other symbols mean is explained on the page Wallpaper symbols explained.

Returning rolls you do not need

Did you not need a spare roll? Unopened, unused rolls can be returned within 15 days. The details are in our return policy. For defects, our terms and conditions and your statutory rights apply.
