SYSTEXX Active Magnetic is a glass fibre wallcovering with a magnetically active reverse side, allowing standard off-the-shelf magnets to hold directly on the painted wall – no rails, panels or magnetic paint required. The visible face is available either as a finely woven glass fabric (M39) or a perfectly smooth glass fleece (M22).
Whether used as a play board for children, a magnetic notice board, a presentation wall in the office or a canvas for creative expression – this wallcovering transforms entire wall surfaces into flexible display areas. It integrates practically invisibly into any interior scheme.
💡 Optionally, the surface can be finished with SYSTEXX Whiteboard Finish, making it writable and wipeable with standard whiteboard markers – ideal as an all-in-one solution for meeting rooms, schools or creative studios.

Installation of SYSTEXX Active Magnetic wallcovering
⚠️ Important before installation:
Always roll Magnetic wallcoverings in the winding direction – never bend or roll against it. Rolling in the wrong direction can permanently damage the visible surface.
Applying adhesive:
Apply dispersion adhesive evenly to the wall using a paint roller or airless spray equipment. Recommended adhesive quantity: 200 – 310 g/m². Not suitable for use with a wallpapering machine.
Butt-joining strips:
Place each new strip with approximately 1 mm overlap against the previous one, then slide the edge back until the seams are flush. Press firmly, bubble-free. Remove any adhesive from the visible surface immediately with a damp cloth.
External corners:
Continuous application around external corners is not possible. Strips must be cut cleanly at all corners. Recommended: SYSTEXX corner bead profile No. 3840.
Drying times:
Drying time before painting: 24 hours (at 18 °C, 60 % RH).
Do not use magnets until fully dry – allow at least 48 hours!
Coating / Painting:
Apply a high-quality emulsion paint (wet scrub resistance class 1). Caution with matt finishes: magnets may leave abrasion marks on a matt surface – silk-matt or silk-satin sheens are preferable. Up to 8 coats of paint can be applied without reducing magnetic performance.
